RsWebParts 1.3

Posted in Reporting Services | SharePoint at Tuesday, 22 February 2005 14:03 Pacific Standard Time

Just finished uploading the RsWebParts 1.3 package to the project site. I added in a quick fix for the parameters issue. The fix is that you can now include the standard Reporting Services toolbar and parameters which should fix the problem. It isn't as flexible and it takes up some of the report view space, but it works until I come up with something better.

Thanks to everyone for all the great feedback, especially David Korn for testing out the new version.

Wow, really a great project. Keep up the great work Bryant.

I downloaded RSWebParts 1.3 and have everything configured. What I am noticing is that there seems to be a refreshing/sizing issue with the Report viewer.
<br>
<br>If I change the web part size within the toolpart, sometimes the linked report does not display. Or it displays inconsistently.
<br>
<br>Is there a fix for this or is this due to iframe issues?

I use =" All Partner" as default parameters value, note the space before 'All', in order to put this value at the top of my list which comes from a query. But this expression is not translated correctly when run through rswebparts.
<br>
<br>Example:
<br>
<br>Parameter query:
<br>(select distinct vchcompanyname
<br>from dimpartner d)
<br>union
<br>select ' All Partner'
<br>order by 1
<br>
<br>default value is set to =" All Partner"
<br>
<br>Runs fine in development environment and reportserver site but not through rswebparts

I have put these on sourceforge, but just in case you don't see them there...
<br>These are referring to your Parameters WP.

<br>Feature suggestion: Calendar popup for datetime fields. ie, have a calendar icon next to the textbox which will pop up a calendar when clicked. After clicking a date on the calendar, the popup closes & the textbox is filled with that date.
<br>(have implemented this myself using a customised version of <a target="_new" href="http://www.mattkruse.com/javascript/calendarpopup/">http://www.mattkruse.com/javascript/calendarpopup/</a> )
<br>
<br>Bug report: When the WP refreshes/submits, datetime fields lose everything after the hours, ie, "10/10/2005 12:00:00 AM" becomes "10/10/2005 12", which is not a recognisable datetime value.

Oh yeah... checkbox instead of radio buttons for Booleans would be nice too (IMHO)

Worked out the fix for the datetime fields.

<br>In RsParameters.cs, in RaisePostBackEvent
<br>replace this line:
<br> Parameters.Add(s[0], s[1]);
<br>with:
<br> Parameters.Add(s[0], String.Join(":",s,1,s.Length-1));

Very interesting i actually downloaded the webpart and installed the MSI.
And i populated the RsExplorer and RSReportiew.
I added the Server URL :-
http://myserver/Reportserver
and FolderPath- : /MyreportFolder
But when i load it up it just shows "retrieving data" and nothing more..
Am i missing something?

Hi Patrick: your "retrieving data" is due to your IE set to not load data from a another server. goto IE -> internet options > security > custom level > miscellaneous: Access data sources accross domains: set to enable.

I'm unable to get these working (at all) with wss 3.0. The Report Viewer web part will display a list of reports, but I can't get it to display the actual report. I'm looking to use the functionality to connect web parts that is missing from the SSRS integrated web part. Any ideas?
